Head Chair Intro - Tanirika Singh

Image
Hello Delegates!  My name is Tanirika Singh and I am very excited to be your head chair for the WHO this year at BMUN alongside an incredible dais! With future blog posts from our dais focusing more on the topics for the committee as well as general advice as we get closer to conference, I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  Although born in New Delhi, I grew up locally here in the Bay Area and didn't need to travel far from home for college here at Cal where I'm currently a second year studying Molecular & Cellular Biology. Beyond BMUN, I'm involved in on-campus scientific research and help teach an undergraduate run course on public health. In my free time, I love going out on hikes and runs locally here in Berkeley, watching Formula 1 (if anyone else does please reach out to me, I only know 3 other people who do :') ),  and feasting upon every pasta dish I can find within a 5 mile radius of me.  I can't wait to meet you all very soon! H...

Vice Chair Intro - Kotryna Vismante

Hi Delegates! My name is Kotryna and I’m excited to serve as your WHO Vice Chair for BMUN LXX! I’m a sophomore majoring in Computer Science and Philosophy, and this is my second year participating in BMUN. I’m originally Lithuanian but spent a long time living in the D.C. area and Kyiv, Ukraine. The exposure to different places, as well as lots of international friends, motivated me to join MUN back in high school, and I have grown so much because of it. Outside of BMUN, I spend most of my time at the gym, leading development at a campus consulting group, or pushing my 100-year old apartment’s kitchen to the brink of collapse while cooking. The topics of this committee have undoubtedly affected us all personally, but I am curious to see the diverse perspectives you will bring from research about them on an international and country-level scale. I hope you learn, build confidence, and make memories this weekend!

Introduction: Vice Chair Jihee Yoon

Hi everyone! I'm Jihee, one of your vice chairs for WHO, and I'm very excited to meet you all in a few weeks at BMUN LXX!  A little about myself – I am a Socal native from Irvine, CA. This is my eighth year in Model UN, and as a past participle of BMUN conferences in high school myself, I understand the tremendous time and effort that you will be dedicating and wish to make it the most meaningful and memorable experience possible. Personally, MUN has been one of those programs that pushed me to think beyond the horizon and dare to dream, and I hope this conference can provoke inspiration in you all to promote positive change and achieve your aspirations.  Now, I am a senior finishing up my last semester as a Statistics and Data Science double major, and I like to spend my time doing water sports at the Marina and also with the Christian community on campus. Upon graduation, I will be growing my domain as a data scientist and plan to apply my technical knowledge in the g...
